V207 special version in 19” rack
· for military applications

ASR: Airspace surveillance radar

The V207 controls the erection and rotation of phase array antennas and is wired as a high-speed servo controller. For this application, the performance data was set as follows:

Max. motor voltage 180VDC
Max. motor continuous current 42Aeff
Max. peak current 80A
Total power 7.5KW
Degree of efficiency approx. 94%
Speed control range 1:30.000
Range of the secondary current controller 800Hz

Current ripple for nominal current
2 high-power chokes with low-loss cores and 80% copper coil space factor. Also features foil condensers which filter high-frequency components of the output voltage. The LC filter at the output is damped by a power Boucherot network.

Emitter layout with power splitters

DC servo motor:

High-Dynamic disc motor, which controls the position of the antenna.

3D Phased Array Antenna
The primary antenna is a passive, phase-controlled array antenna with a flat aperture. The azimuth range is measured by turning the antenna. The elevation range is measured by varying the radar lobe by phase control.

In reconnaissance, the aim of the ASR radar sensor is to identify objects within a predefined reconnaissance area at a distance of up to 300 km and an elevation of up to 10 km. During operations all important parameters are measured by an automatic testing system before being displayed on the radar workstation. The same applies to the extensive monitoring displays provided by the V207 high-power amplifier. The evaluation cabin workstations can be up to 300m away from the radar antenna.
